24-HOUR HELP HOTLINE
  COP-2-COP *AVAILABLE NATIONWIDE*

When the job gets to you, it’s great to be able to blow off steam with a fellow officer. Most of the time, that’s all it takes. But when the issues run deeper, COP 2 COP is ready to help you and your family cope with and resolve your problems. Our cop clinicians, peer counselors and peer supporters understand, listen and want to help – 24-hours a day/7-days a week.

If you are feeling depressed, helpless, overwhelmed, weak, withdrawn, suicidal, emotionally and physically exhausted from a traumatic incident or highly stressful situation, emotionally challenged or financially drained – reach out for assistance- 1-866-Cop-2Cop.

Been there done that! Cops understand cops – that’s why we started the hotline. The Cop 2 Cop hotline (1-866-COP -2COP) is staffed by retired officers who are licensed Clinical Social Workers, known as Cop Clinicians, and specially trained Mental Health professionals, along with volunteer retired officers who are trained as peer supporters.

Everyday we hear from law enforcement professionals with issues similar to these:
  • • family and marital problems
  • • alcohol abuse
  • • trauma following a shooting or other stressful incident
  • • feelings of loneliness and being misunderstood
  • • physical ailments – including: shakes, tremors, panic attacks, nightmares
  • • anxiety, depression
  • • legal, financial or other personal matters
When you call the Cop 2 Cop hotline, you get immediate access to these services:
  • Peer and Clinical Support services provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by law enforcement professionals, psychologists/social workers and retired law enforcement volunteers who are trained to work on the hotline as peer supporters. If you want to vent to another cop who knows what you're going through, Cop 2 Cop staff are ready to help.

  • Clinical Assessments are available for mild or severe problems and are determined by an experienced professional counselor, who can recommend additional treatment and follow-up with a vast network of professional resources throughout the state. Not sure how to handle a problem, or believe a custom designed clinical assessment could help you, call the Cop 2 Cop hotline to discuss your situation with a trained professional in the field of police psychology.

  • Referrals – to one of our Police Clinical Network Providers trained to treat the unique needs of officers and their families. Treatment and services are provided to help with family therapy, medication for depression, detoxification, or anything you may require to be healthy and back to your 'self again'.

  • Critical Incident Stress Management - if you're involved in a traumatic incident of any kind, and you find the experience is haunting you in anyway, we can provide debriefing services or dispatch a team to assist you. The service is designed to help you talk about what happened; understand what to expect and to help you identify if you have any symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder which may require treatment. The de-briefing methods used follow the International Guidelines established by the ICISF.

Our main focus is always to maintain confidentiality while ensure the safety of all involved.

Remember Cop 2 Cop. Working to protect those who serve: 1-866-Cop-2Cop

The #1 Cop Killer in the United States of America is Police Suicide. Fact: More police officers die at their own hand each year than at the hand of an assailant.

The Pain Behind The Badge, L.L.C., is not merely a documentary movie about police suicide but an entire training seminar designed to help police officers, police employees, and first responders to deal with the struggles associated with police work, Cumulative Stress, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

This training presented by Clarke Paris, an active police sergeant with more than 26 years experience, and Tracie Paris, a Registered Nurse with 26 years experience, also addresses issues such as police stress, depression and the roles they play in law enforcement(relationships, use of force, Internal Affairs complaints, motivation, etc.).

The instructors use their personal experience and training to make this training dynamic, entertaining, and informative. Some of the other topics discussed in this Police Suicide Prevention Seminar are Peer Support, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Employee Assistance Programs (E.A.P.), Critical Incident Stress management (CISM), and the use of Police Chaplains, to name a few.

This training is P.O.S.T. certified & approved in several states, and is a powerful tool that can be used by agencies and organizations, not only to train officers and civilians on the above topics, but it hopefully will reduce Police Suicide by: educating employees on the signs/symptoms of these stressors; convincing struggling employees that they are not alone; and convincing employees that the help already in place does work and they should accept it. Please enjoy the web site and feel free to contact us with any questions you might have.
