The Pain Behind The Badge Film

The Pain Behind The Badge is a one-hour documentary film created and produced by Clarke Paris in conjunction with 100 Watt Productions. The film features three real police officers from different agencies who share with the viewers their battles with job-related stress, marriage, and PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder). Two of these officers explain in detail their personal struggles and discuss their journeys that took them to the brink of committing suicide. This film also includes interviews with a psychologist, a counselor, and a police officer's spouse.

At the film's closing, citizens who have been protected and saved by law enforcement officers tell about their experiences as statistics scroll across the screen. The film has been entered in several film festivals and marketed to national television networks. Ultimately, The Pain Behind The Badge Film led to the development of The Pain Behind The Badge Seminar.

About Clarke Paris Creator / Producer

Clarke Paris is a military veteran, has more than 25 years experience with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and is a former ‘Police Officer of the Year’. He is also the Creator/Producer of the award winning documentary film on police stress and suicide, ‘The Pain Behind The Badge’.

The Pain Behind The Badge received both the ‘Honorable Mention Award and ‘Best Documentary’ at International Film Festivals. Clarke was involved in recovery for several agencies including Virginia Tech PD (after the 33 student massacre) and Lakewood PD (after 4 officers were murdered in a coffee shop) and has been honored by the International Police Association for his contribution to Law Enforcement.
