For
the first time ever, a book written to memorialize Police Officers
who have taken their lives as a result of the pain and anguish caused
by their chosen profession: law enforcement.
Readers will learn of the struggles that not only the featured officers
endured, but also the struggles that a large majority of officers
and their families endure as they travel down the path of police
work.
My Life For Your Life features the
biographies of 25 law enforcement officers. Readers will learn about
25 outstanding human beings who wore badges on their chests
while at work but wore the pain caused by their chosen profession
on their hearts 24/7.
Each featured story includes a portrait of the officer in uniform,
a photograph of the officer off-duty, and a short biography as well
as letters written to each by their respective survivors after their
death.
My Life For Your Life includes police
suicide statistics and an explanation of PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress
Disorder) and cumulative stress as it applies to law enforcement
officers. This book memorializes 25 peace officers who died unnecessarily
and shows the immeasurable loss to society; it opens the reader's
eyes, ears and hearts to the lives of some of America's greatest
heroes. My Life For Your Life allows readers, in some
cases for the first time, to see police officers as human beings
and not as nameless, faceless persons behind badges.
A portion of the proceeds from the sales
of this book will go to select police suicide prevention organizations.
Release of My Life For Your Life is scheduled for
